OT on the Hill

Hill Day is an annual event where occupational therapy professionals and students can advocate for their profession on Capitol Hill. MOTA Hill Day is one of our most important days for the profession in the State of Missouri. We rely on our practitioners, allies, and students to send a clear message that occupational therapy is valuable and that we are paying attention!

Take this opportunity to join fellow practitioners and students to advocate on behalf of our profession and network with others!

Hill Day Attire: Please wear PURPLE on Hill Day as a show of appreciation for Representative Terri Violet. She's been a strong advocate for accessibility, and her recent amendment to HB 943, which empowers Occupational Therapists Practitioners to provide disabled parking placards.

MOTA Hill Day Training Guide

This session provides a comprehensive guide to participating in MOTA Hill Day, offering essential information on parking, attire, and what to bring, as well as an overview of the agenda and meeting etiquette. It includes talking points for advocating the role of occupational therapists practitioners (OTPs) as qualified mobility experts, emphasizing their unique qualifications in evaluating and improving functional mobility.

Join the Movement:

MOTA Hill Day 2025 offers a unique opportunity to join Occupational Therapy practitioners from across Missouri in advocating for policies that support the profession. Attendees will meet with state legislators, participate in an inspiring OT rally, network with over 200 OT professionals and students, and learn about the critical role of OT legislation in shaping the future of the field.

How You Can Get Involved:

Please complete this form to register for MOTA on the Hill 2025. MOTA organizers will contact your elected's office to schedule a meeting. Appointments will be posted to a live Google doc closer to the event date (March 12, 2025). Volunteers will also be available to relay appointment information at check in at the event.

We’re looking for dedicated volunteers to help make MOTA Hill Day a success! As a volunteer, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our advocacy efforts for the occupational therapy profession.

As a volunteer, you can assist with various tasks such as helping attendees with registration and orientation, providing logistical support by setting up, coordinating, and distributing materials, answering questions at the event's information table, and delivering invitations to legislators.
