Celebrating Our President: Dr. Jacque Sample, AOTA Roster of Fellows!

Celebrating Our President

Our very own President, Dr. Jacque Sample, has been accepted into the prestigious Roster of Fellows by the American Occupational Therapy Association. Dr. Jacque Sample has spent her 25+ year career engaging in and organizing OT advocacy projects, including co-founding the Missouri OT Hill Day, Missouri Disability Empowerment, and working with the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education on updating the OT School-based guidelines. Dr. Sample is actively engaged in municipal and state policy development and is currently running for public office. Dr. Sample currently serves as the President of MOTA, Chair of the Disabilities Commission in Columbia, MO, and is an associate professor at Cox College.


Roster of Fellows

The Roster of Fellows, established in 1973, recognizes occupational therapist members of AOTA who have made significant, impactful contributions to the profession through their knowledge, expertise, leadership, advocacy, and guidance. 

This year, 62 new Fellows join this distinguished society in 2025. This recognition is a testament to Dr. Sample's remarkable 25+ year career dedicated to advancing occupational therapy. Her tireless efforts and leadership have truly shaped the landscape of OT in Missouri and beyond. Here are just a few highlights of her incredible work:

  • Co-founding the Missouri OT Hill Day, advocating directly for our profession.

  • Co-founding Missouri Disability Empowerment, championing the rights and needs of individuals with disabilities.

  • Working with theMissouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education to update the OT School-based guidelines, directly impacting services for students.

  • Active engagement in municipal and state policy development, even currently running for public office!

Beyond these impactful initiatives, Dr. Sample currently serves as thePresident of MOTA, Chair of the Disabilities Commission in Columbia, MO, and is an associate professor at Cox College.
