Save the date for Hill Day 2020!
Join MOTA, your colleagues and others as we advocate for our profession in Jefferson City on March 4, 2020
Mark your calendars for Missouri Hill Day on March 4th in Jefferson City, MO! We have received some registrations from schools, but we so far do not have any practitioners. All occupational therapy practitioners and students are a vital part of our advocacy day.
MOTA does not have a lobbyist, so we rely heavily on our membership to be our eyes, ears, and feet on the ground to advocate for occupational therapy in this great state. We are stronger together and your time is valued.
During this hill day, we will be advocating for:
- Occupational therapy in the opioid crisis through non-pharmacological pain management
- Value of occupational therapy in mental health and Community Behavioral Health Centers (CBHC)
- What is occupational therapy
- and Licensure/Occupational Therapy Compact or any other legislative issue that may arise
MOTA makes all of the appointments, so all you need to do is register and show up. How easy is that? Hill Day is open to non-members and members alike so please invite your friends! Please send any questions you have about the event to MOTAPractice@gmail.com and I will respond as soon as I am able.
We ask that all practitioners register through the Hill Day Registration Survey. If you are a student, we ask that you register through your school. If your school is not planning to attend Hill Day, but you as an individual are able to, please email MOTAPractice@gmail.com
A Zoom meeting will be held for all attendees on February 26 at 6pm CST at the following link: https://zoom.us/j/2956782440.
Be sure to check back at www.motamo.net at for updates and/or our Facebook Event Page. Also, be sure to follow us on Twitter @MissouriOTAssoc and use the #MOTAOnTheHill.
Occupational therapy month is quickly approaching! We want to take advantage of this month the show everyone the great work that is going on in Missouri. We are looking for members to make a video about their programs (school and work) that highlight their work. Keep an eye on your email for more information and check our website.
Thank you for all that you do and your membership is greatly valued. MOTA is only as strong as our members. Together, we can drive change in the state we call home.
