MOTA Statement on SOcial Justice and Systemic Racism
"our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter"
Martin Luther King Jr.
"The Missouri Occupational Therapy Association supports the statement made by the American Occupational Therapy Association regarding George Floyd and other members of our African American communities. As a group dedicated to supporting the practice of occupational therapy and our practitioners and students, we acknowledge how racial injustices impact the ability for individuals and groups of people to safely and fully engage in meaningful activities and feel safe in their communities. We have taken the liberty to post a few resources in Missouri and occupational therapy dedicated to diversity and inclusion. We acknowledge this list may not be complete and we will do our best to update the list as we are able. We send our thoughts and support to all who have been impacted as we work towards a better tomorrow."
